Four ASPs to join Police Aviation Wing as pilots

Four assistant superintendents of police have successfully completed their solo flights operation training at the Army Aviation School to join the Police Aviation Wing as pilots soon.

Ten trainees from different forces have been participating in helicopter operations at the Army Aviation School among them four are from Bangladesh Police.

ASP Fatema-Tuj-Johra has obtained the first place by getting highest numbers among other participants, according to a press release issued by the Police Headquarters on Monday.

Inspector general of police Benazir Ahmed said that with the launching of the aviation wing, Bangladesh Police will be a three-dimensional force.

‘The newly raised Aviation Wing of the Police will play a vital role in quick response, communication, conducting serious operations and rescue drive in remote areas of the country,’ he said.

The IGP also exchanged views with a delegation of Army Aviation School led by its Commander Major General IKM Mostahsinul Baki at the Hall of Pride of the Police Headquarters.

Benazir expressed special gratitude to prime minister Sheikh Hasina for allowing to launch the Aviation Wing of Bangladesh Police.

The Army Aviation School has been playing a vital role in training the pilots of the newly formed aviation wing, he said adding that the armed forces, especially the army, have good professional relations and cooperation with Bangladesh Police.

He hoped that the field of such cooperation would be further enhanced and consolidated in the future.

Benazir said that Bangladesh Army and Police have a long history and tradition of working shoulder to shoulder in any need and crisis of the country.

Commander of the Army Aviation Group said that the trainees of Bangladesh Police are participating in the training with their highest efforts and sincerity. He hoped that they will be able to develop themselves as qualified pilots.

Deputy inspector general of the Police Headquarters Tawfiq Mahbub Chowdhury among others spoke on the occasion while ASP Fatema-Tuj-Johra shared her feelings about the thrilling experiences of the training session.

Additional inspectors general of the Police Headquarters and other concerned senior officials were present on the occasion.
