Fire at Chawkbazar plastic factory put out, no casualty reported

A fire that broke out at a plastic factory on Tuesday morning in the Posta Chawkbazar area of old Dhaka was put out completely, officials said.

The fire started at about 6:10am inside the factory.

‘After an hour-long effort, seven firefighting units managed to douse the flames completely,’ said Shahjahan Shikder, deputy assistant director (media cell) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

‘Fortunately, no casualties were reported. A probe has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the fire,’ he added.
