Passenger with 34 pieces of gold bars held at Chattogram airport

The authorities of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate on Wednesday arrested a passenger of a plane with 34 pieces of gold bars at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport.

The arrestee is Saiful Islam, son of Abdur Rahman, of Mohammadpur under Lohagara upazila in Chattogram, said the directorate revenue officer Toiyabur Rahman.

Saiful Islam came to Chattogram from the United Arab Emirates by a flight of Air Arabia from Sharjah. The flight landed at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport at about 7:15am, the official said.
