Mild heat wave likely to continue in parts of Bangladesh
The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue in different parts of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9:00am on Sunday.
‘Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Tangail, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue,’ said the bulletin.
‘Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,’ it added
However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur, while the minimum temperature today was recorded 25.1 degrees Celsius at Sylhet.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00am on Sunday was recorded 163mm at Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6:48pm on Sunday and rises at 5:21 am on Monday in Dhaka.
