Jamaat ameer Shafiqur arrested by CTTC

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit of police arrested Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Shafiqur Rahman raiding his House in Uttara in Dhaka on early Tuesday.

Earlier, the Jamaat authorities complained that Shafiqur was picked up from his house by people who claimed themselves as members of Detective Branch of police.

DMP deputy commissioner for media Faruk Hossain on Tuesday morning confirmed New Age about the incident of the arrest conducted by CTTC.

He did not confirm the allegations against Shafiqur.

Jammat leaders alleged that police ransacked Shaiqur’s house and seized everyone’s cellphone while conducting the raid.

The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Saturday announced a 10-point charter of demands, including the resignation of the Awami League government, from a rally in Dhaka.

Jamaat, later, announced simultaneous movement.
