Indian rupees recovered from Ctg airport
The Customs Intelligence recovered around 69 lakh Indian rupees from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong city on Tuesday.
None was arrested in this connection.
SAIA manager Wing Commander Mohammad Reazul Kabir said the currencies were recovered from a carton at the cargo warehouse of the airport at about 1:30pm.
Reazul said as a part of the regular inspection, CI officials checked the cargo warehouse and found the unsealed carton along with the rupees.
Chittagong Customs House assistant commissioner Abul Kashem said as there was no address on the carton they were yet to detect the owner.
Earlier, on September 21, customs officials recovered around 2.73 crore Indian rupees from Chittagong Port.
