Khaleda to return after treatment: Hannan Shah

Alleging that government is spreading lies over BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s London tour, BNP senior leader ASM Hannan Shah on Friday said she will return home on completion of her treatment.
‘We want to make it clear that there’s no other destination for Khaleda, other than Bangladesh. She’s now in London for her treatment. She’ll be back to Bangladesh once her treatment is over.’
Hannan Shah came up with the remarks at a rally organised by Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal at the Jatiya Press Club protesting the alleged torture of its president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel and other leaders of the party.
Lambasting the government for repressing BNP men, Hannan Shah said the country’s people are afraid of the government’s ministers, MPs, leaders and law-enforcement agencies as they are carrying out terrorist activities in the country.
‘Militant is now a cheap slogan of this government. Awami league has introduced the word militants. Who are militants, anyway? Those are militants who carry out terrorist acts and create panic among people. Country’s people are now scared of the law-enforcement agencies of the government,’ he said.
Referring to some sensational incidents where there were alleged involvement of ministers or ruling party MPs, including Narayanganj seven murders and shooting of a minor boy by Gaibandha-1 MP Manjurul Islam Liton, he said, ‘No one could be more terrorists other than Awami League ministers, MPs, leaders and activists.’
He also observed that locals, foreigners and even members of law-enforcement agencies are not safe in the country’s prevailing situation as the government has failed to maintain the law and order in the country.
Hannan Shah called upon the government to resolve the country’s current political crisis through dialogue with all political parties.
