Two Shibir men held with 101 crude bombs
Two activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, were arrested and a huge number of explosive, two firearms and Jihad related books were seized from their possession in Sylhet on Saturday early morning.
The arrested were identified as Mozammel Hossain, 20, son of Kamrul Islam of Hatubhanga village, and Rumman Miah, 21, son of Sirajul Islam of Nizampur village, at Fenchuganj upazila in the district, police said.
Fenchuganj police officer-in-charge Nandan Kanti Dhar confirmed New Age of the news of arrest and recovery of the explosive, firearms and books. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the two ICS activists from separate places of the area in the early morning.
Following information extracted from them, 101 crude bombs, 2 pipe guns and a number of books written on Jihad were seized from two separate homes of Ashighar village and Hatubhanga village of Fenchuganj, the police officer said.
Nandan Kanti Dhar told the ICS activists had collected the crude bombs and firearms to run destructive activities in the area.
