War crimes trial campaigners on Saturday demanded the withdrawal of a recent Amnesty International statement which alleged that the trials and sentencing of Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed and Salauddin Quader Chowdhury did not meet international standards.

From separate rallies in the capital, Sector Commanders’ Forum and Sammilita Sanskritik Jote asked AI to apologize for its statement.
They also asked the government to ban AI activities in Bangladesh.
The SCF rally held in front of the National Press Club was addressed by its vice-chairman Abu Osman Chowdhury, vice-president M Hamid, secretary general Haroon Habib, joint-secretary general Abul Kalam Azad Patwari and assistant organizing secretary Mosharrof Hossain.
The SSJ rally at Dhaka University Teacher-Students Centre was addressed by it president Golam Quddus besides Mamunur Rashid, Fakir Alamgir, Mannan Hira and Akhteruzzaman.
