Jail Killing Day: PM pays homage to Bangabandhu, 4 national leaders

The prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders marking the Jail Killing Day.
In memory of the leaders, she placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road No 32 this morning. The killers of Bangabandhu stormed into Dhaka Central Jail in the early hours of November 3, 1975 and killed four national leaders —Tajuddin Ahmed, Syed Nazrul Islam, Captain Monsur Ali and AHM Kamruzzaman — who led the Liberation War in absence of Bangabandhu in 1971 and earned victory for the nation.
Health and family welfare minister and son of Captain Monsur Ali, Mohammad Nasim, public administration minister and son of Syed Nazrul Islam, Syed Ashraful Islam, cabinet members, central leaders of Awami League and its associate bodies were present at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum on the occasion.
Sheikh Hasina first placed a wreath as the Prime Minister at the portrait of Bangabandhu around 7:00am and stood there for some time in solemn silence as a mark of respect to the leaders, reports Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.
Later, flanked by central leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina placed another wreath as the president of Awami League at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Agriculture minister Matia Chowdhury, minister for road transport and bridges Obaidul Qader, railways Minister Mujibul Haque, minister for relief and disaster management Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and minister for environment and forests Anwar Hossain were present, among others.
