Today’s primary exam shifted to Nov 30
The primary and the ibtedayi completion examinations scheduled for today has been shifted to November 30, due to the general strike called by Jamaat-e-Islami.
A primary and mass education ministry statement on Sunday said Bangla exam of both the general stream and the madrassah stream would begin at 11:00am on November 30.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami enforced the daylong hartal protesting the execution of the party secretary general, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, on charge of 1971 war crimes.
A total of 1,43,445 pupils did not attend their English exam on the opening day of the Primary Education Completion Examinations and equivalent Ibtadayi Education Completion Examinations on Sunday said primary and mass education ministry exam control room.
The control room said that 1,02,747 students did not show up in the PECE exam while the number for ibtedayi exam was 40,698.
Officials explained that many fell sick while others faced early drop out due to their poor preparation.
The primary and mass education minister Mostafizur Rahman after visiting several exam centers in the capital, said, the exams are being held in a festive mood.
Over 32 lakh students are taking this year’s exams.
According to the schedule, the general education students will take Bangladesh and Global studies on November 24, basic science on November 25, religious instructions on November 26 and mathematics on November 29,
respectively.
Meanwhile, the madrassah students will take Bangladesh and Global studies on November 24, Arabic on November 25, Qur’an and tajbid on November 26 and mathematics on November 29, respectively.
The examinations will be taken from 11:00am to 1:30pm.
The Primary Completion Examinations, the largest public examinations of the country, were introduced in 2009. Ibtedayi Completion Examinations for madrassah students were introduced in 2010.
