Pakistan’s unconditional apology demanded
Forum for Secular Bangladesh and Trial of War Criminals of 1971 on Tuesday demanded unconditional apology of Pakistan for hurting the sentiment of Bangladeshi people through its falsehood.
‘We strongly demanded that the government of Bangladesh should take necessary steps to realise dues, compensation, punishment and justice through international crimes tribunal from those Pakistani people who were responsible for conducting mass killings in Bangladesh during 1971,’ they said in a press release.
The Forum also demanded that the government of Bangladesh should make efforts to enlist international cooperation for creating pressure on Pakistan to make unconditional apology to Bangladesh and realise compensations and trial of war crimes by Pakistan.
On the occasion of victory month, the Forum suggested Pakistan to immediately start trial of those criminal people who were named in the report of justice Hamidur Rahman, otherwise the country would be considered as a nation of war criminals in the world.
The central council of the Forum also condemned and protested for summoning acting Bangladesh High Commissioner in Islamabad to Pakistan foreign ministry on November 30.
Sector commander’s forum-liberation war 1971 secretary general Harun Habib in a press release said that it was a historical sin of Pakistan as the country refused responsibility of committing oppression on innumerable women and conducting genocide during Bangladesh’s liberation war.
‘The refusal of responsibility proved that Pakistan could not take any lesson from history,’ he said, calling the Pakistan government to apologise to the government of Bangladesh.
Ganasanghati Andolon central committee in a statement said that Pakistan army and their collaborators were involved in killing, raping, burning, and oppressing the people of Bangladesh during 1971.
‘It will be considered justice if steps are taken to bring those Pakistani officials and put them to face trail,’ said the statement.
