Pakistan can’t hide 1971 genocide: BNP

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Tuesday said that Pakistan in no way can hide the fact of ‘genocide’ and ‘atrocities’ staged by its army during the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh.
‘Pakistani army committed genocide and atrocities in Bangladesh and it is a fact that cannot be concealed,’ BNP spokesman Asaduzzaman Ripon said at a briefing at the parties central office.
He made the statement replying to a query about Pakistan’s claim that it did not commit war crimes, genocide and atrocities in 1971.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry on Monday summoned the acting Bangladesh high commissioner in Islamabad and denied that it committed war crimes and atrocities Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh diplomat was informed that the government of Pakistan rejected the assertions of the Bangladesh government conveyed in its note of November 23.
‘Pakistan also rejected insinuation of complicity in committing crimes or war atrocities. Nothing could be further from the truth,’ said a release of Pakistan’s foreign ministry, apparently rejecting the facts on executed war criminals,
