All blocked apps, sites unblocked : Tarana

The state minister for post and telecommunications, Tarana Halim, on Monday said she had instructed unblock all blocked communication apps and social networking sites.
‘We have instructed to unblock all the communication apps and social networking sites and it would be implemented in a couple of hours,’ Tarana Halim told New Age.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission chairman Shahjahan Mahmud told New Age that they had received the order and instructed all operators and IIGs to implement it immediately.
Earlier, on the day home minister Asaduzzman Khan said his ministry was not aware of the reason behind freshly blocked access to three communications app and microblogging site.
The government on November 18 blocked access to Facebook and other internet-based communications apps like WhatsApp and Viber and on December 11 unblocked access to only Facebook.
On Sunday night, the government again blocked access to communication app Skype and Imo and microblogging site Twitter.
In September 2012, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission blocked video sharing site YouTube in Bangladesh for 260 days following worldwide protests at a 14-minute trailer of a film titled ‘Innocence of Muslims’ which mocks Islam and its Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh).
