10 killed in road accidents across country

At least 10 people, including five in Pabna, were killed in separate road accidents on Monday.
New Age correspondent in Pabna reported that at least five people, including three of them from a family, were killed and 25 others injured in a road accident at Chinakhara on Dhaka-Pabna highway Monday.
Among the deceased, three of a family were identified as Sankoni Rani, 45, Bijli Rani, 22, and Akash, 12, of village Lakshmipur of Sujanagar upazila. The two others could not be identified immediately.
Shakil Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sujanagar Police Station, said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound speedy bus collided head-on with a Pabna-bound speedy truck, leaving four dead on the spot and injured 26 others.
Among the injured, one succumbed to death at Sujanagar Upazila Health Complex.
Critically injured Anisa Khatun, Rahim Badsha, Mamunur Rahman and Ranzu were admitted to Pabna Medical College Hospital.
In Keraniganj, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver and an unidentified boy were killed and three others injured in a collision between
an oil-laden lorry and the auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Mawa highway in Hasnabad area of Dakhhin Keraniganj upazila on Monday morning.
The auto-rickshaw driver was identified as Jewel, 40, a resident of Bara area of Dohar upazila.
Aminul Islam, sub-inspector of South Keraniganj Police Station, said the accident took place on the highway around 11:20am, leaving the duo dead on the spot and three others injured.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
New Age staff correspondent in Khulna reported that a trader was crushed under the wheels of a bus at Sonadanga in the city on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Rafiquzzaman Regan, 32, son of police sub-inspector Masud Parvez, now serving at Rupsha Police Station in Khulna.
Sonadanga police officer-in-charge Shukumar Biswas said a Gorai Paribahan bus hit Regan while he was riding a motorcycle at Sonadanga, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police seized the bus but its driver managed to escape, the OC said.
New Age staff correspondent in Sylhet reported that a man was killed and 25 others were injured as a city-bound bus coming from Bianibazar hit a roadside tree at Mewa on Sylhet-Bianibazar road on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hafiz, 40, of Mathiura village of Bianibazar in the district.
Bianibazar police officer-in-charge Jubayer Ahmad confirmed it to New Age.
New Age correspondent in Noakhali reported that a minor boy was killed as a bus hit him while he was crossing road at Munshi intersection in Chatkhil on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Siam, 6, son of Mizanur Rahman, of village Paschim Sundalpur under Sundalpur union.
Nasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Chatkhil Police Station, said that a Dhaka-bound Al Baraka bus responsible for the killing but the bus could not be held.
