70 jailed, 6 held for fraudulence in DAE job tests

Seventy jobseekers were jailed for different terms for forgery in recruitment tests in Department of Agriculture Extension on Friday.
Besides, six others were detained for their suspected involvement in forgery, DAE officials said.
Among the offenders, four of them were current student of Dhaka University, the university’s acting proctor Amzad Ali confirmed.
A number of 50,965 jobseekers sit in 11 categories for the recruitment in 1,578 posts, said DAE director general Hamidur Rahman.
Institute of Business Administration of Dhaka University conducted the one-hour written examinations at 28 centres in Dhaka city.
Hamidur Rahman in a statement after the examinations said that 76 were held for forgery in the tests and 70 of them were jailed by mobile court for different terms.
Shahabag police station officer-in-charge Abu Bakar Siddique said six persons were detained at the police station for investigation.
