Truck kills 2 policemen at Chapainawabganj checkpoint
Two policemen were killed as a truck, to which they signaled to pull over, crashed into their motorcycle in Kansat area of Shibganj of Chapainawabganj early Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Sajidul Islam, son of Abdus Sattar, hailing from Dinajpur district and sub-inspector of Shibganj Police Station, and Ataul Isalm, son of Sajahan, haling from Joypurhat district and a trainee traffic sergeant of the police station, reports Untied News of Bangladesh.
Around 5:30am, Abdus Sattar and Ataul Isalm from a motorcycle waved to a Chapainawabganj-bound truck to pull over in Kansat area but the truck ran rashly and slammed into their motorbike, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said MM Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station, quoting witnesses.
On information, police recovered the bodies.
A police sergeant and a sub-inspector were killed when a truck crushed them at a checkpoint in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj early today.
The deceased were identified as Sergeant Ataur Rahman, 27, son of Shahjahan Ali of Joypurhat and SI Sadekul Islam, 32, son of late Abdus Sattar of Dinajpur.
They were posted at Shibganj Police Station, our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports quoting Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.
