Khaleda conveys condolences to Obama, other leaders

Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia has conveyed her condolences to the US president and the prime ministers of Japan, Italy and India over the killings of their citizens in Gulshan café attack, reports United News of Bangladesh.
In separate letters sent to them on Monday through their respective missions in Bangladesh, the BNP chief said she has been deeply shocked at the murders of innocent civilians in the terror attack, her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB on Tuesday.
At least 22 civilians, including 17 foreigners, three Bangladeshis, and two senior police officials were killed as terrorists attacked Holey Artisan Bakery restaurant at the city’s Gulshan diplomatic zone on Friday. Later, six attackers were killed in a commando operation conducted by a joint force.
Of the 17 foreign victims, nine were Italian nationals, seven Japanese citizens and one Indian national and another Bangladesh origin American citizen.
