Tigers pile on Pak miseries

Image

Bangladesh filed more misery on visiting Pakistan after a clean sweep in one-day international series, inflicting a seven-wicket defeat on the visitors in the lone Twenty20 International in Dhaka on Friday. Sakib al Hasan and Sabbir Rahman slammed unbeaten half-centuries as the Tigers showed their batting depth to race to 143-3 in just 16.2 overs to post their maiden win over Pakistan in this format.

India to chase 329 for victory in Sydney semi-final

Steve Smith scored a brilliant century to lay a solid platform but Australia lost a string of wickets in the second half of their innings to finish with 328 for seven in the World Cup semi-final against India on Thursday. On a good Sydney Cricket Ground pitch in perfect weather conditions, the reigning champions will fancy their chances of overhauling the target of 329 and taking their place in Sunday’s final against New Zealand in Melbourne.

Tigers relish chance against India

Image

The probability theory of mathematics is now very popular in the cricketing world as experts are busy using it to calculate Bangladesh’s chance of beating India in World Cup quarter-final on March 19. The theory is irrelevant in other three quarter-finals as everyone is aware that in a knock out contest there is nothing called favourites.

Forget about Sakib al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal. The two cricketers that left Indian media more curious before Thursday’s quarter-final are not even Mashrafee bin Murtaza or Mahmudullah.
