Dr. Victor Mendis is a specialist in Pain Medicine. He trained in London, Sri Lanka and Ukraine and graduated from the Vinnitsa Medical Academy in Ukraine in 1990 and then spent time working in The University Hospital in Colombo and obtained an MD in Anaesthesia in 1998. He came to the UK in 1999 and completed his specialist training at Barts and The London Hospitals, obtaining the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2005. He has also completed a Fellowship in Pain Medicine.

Dr. Mendis was appointed as a consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at the Mid Essex NHS Trust in 2005. He trained at the Barts and the London School of Anaesthesia from 2000 to 2005 and was awarded the CCST (certificate of completion of specialist training) in 2005. He also completed the advance training in Pain Medicine at the London Deanery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons-Ireland, Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetist and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Royal College of Anaesthetist.

Dr. Mendis see patients suffering with a range of pain issues. Back pain, Sciatica, Neck pain, Migraine, Hip and knee pain, Neuralgias, Shoulder pain, Fibromyalgia, Complex reg.

Dr. Mendis sit on various international advisory boards for pain medicine and have been a guest speaker at many international scientific meetings. In addition, he has given press interviews as part of local and international awareness campaigns on chronic low back pain.
