Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun (born 16 December 1950) is a Bangladeshi Lawyer, Politician, incumbent Minister and Member of Parliament representing Narsingdi-4 constituency. He was first elected from Narsingdi-4 in the Third Parliament election in 1986. After then he was elected in the Nineth, Tenth and Eleventh Parliament election. He is the current Minister of Industries since 7th January 2019.

Humayun was born in Dhaka district. His father Advocate M. A. Majid was the President of the Greater Dhaka District Bar Association and the President of the Bangladesh Bar Councilor Tribunal. Humayun's mother was Nur Begum. His grandfather was the elected president of the Union Board of Undivided Bengal and served as an honorary magistrate.

Humayun, one of the leaders of Chhatra Sangram Parishad, one of the organizers of the war of liberation, passed SSC from St. Gregory High School, one of the best schools in Dhaka in 1967. He obtained HSC from Dhaka College and MSS in Political Science from Dhaka University and LLB degree from the same university.

Humayun is a lawyer of the Bangladesh Supreme Court as well as involved in the politics of the Bangladesh Awami League. He was one of the members of the then power base `Ruchira` group of the BCL in the anti-Ayub-Monaim movement in the sixties and played a courageous role as a student leader in all movements against the Pakistani dictator. After independence, he was the chairman of Bangladesh Awami Juba League. On 15 August 1975, he led to reorganization the Juba League in protest of the brutal assassination of Bangabandhu and his family. He led the movement against the military rule who assassinated Bangabandhu. After return of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina to her homeland, the Jubo-Chhatra Sangram Parishad was formed for her direction under the leadership of Humayun and he led the whole of Bangladesh as the Chairman of the Jubo-Chhatra Sangram Parishad. He formed a fierce movement demanding the trial of 71 war criminals and freedom fighters including Ghulam Azam. Humayun was seriously injured in a grenade attack on 21 August 2004. He made an important contribution to the release of Sheikh Hasina after 1/11 incident. Humayun is currently a member of the Central Executive Council of the Bangladesh Awami League.

Humayun was the first Awami League nominated Member of Parliament of the 3rd Jatiya Sangsad in 1986. He was elected a Member of Parliament on 29 December 2008 in the 9th Parliamentary Election as the nominated candidate of Bangladesh Awami League. He served as a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Defense in the 9th Parliament. He was elected as a Member of Parliament on 5 January 2014 as the nominated candidate of Bangladesh Awami League in the 10th Parliamentary Election. He was the Chairman of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment in the 10th Parliament, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Commerce and a member of the Standing Committee on Government Institutions. On 30 December 2018, he was elected as a Member of Parliament for the fourth time as the nominated candidate of Bangladesh Awami League. He became the Minister of Industries on January 07, 2019.

Humayun is involved in various social service activities in his area. He is an advisor to the Bangladesh Government Primary Education Association, a life member of the Gulshan Society, a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, a member of the Dhaka Club, the Baridhara Club and the Gulshan North Club. To spread the light of education, his father established Gotasia Shukur Mahmud High School in 1962, Panchkandi Degree College, Belabo College and Sarvalakshana Senior Madrasa. Humayun is the founder of Gotasia MA Majid BM College, Khidirpur College, Mahonhardi College, Baraicha Degree College, Poradia Wasim Uddin Khan Degree College, Panchkandi Degree College and Gotasia Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun High School and involved in the management of these educational institutions. He is an education-friendly public representative.

Humayun has won numerous awards for his involvement in cricket and football during his school, college and university life. Sheikh Kamal was one of his close friends, playmates, classmates and fellow since his student lifes. He was one of the members of Dhaka Board Cricket Team in 1968 as a companion of Sheikh Kamal. He was the captain of the St. Gregory School football team and a member of the Dhaka University football team.
