4 JMB men held at Tongi

The Rapid Action Battalion detained four operatives of banned militant outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh at Tongi in Gazipur early Thursday.
The detainees were identified as Mahmudul Hasan Tanvir of Sirajganj, amir of the outfit’s southern part in the country, Ashiqul Akbar Abed, Nazmus Sakib, and Shariatullah Shuvo.
Responding to a tip-off, the battalion personnel conducted a drive at the third floor of a five-storey building located at Mukterbari Road around 4:00am and detained them, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, the battalion’s legal and media wing director.
They also recovered a pistol, a magazine, over 100 bullets, eight crude bombs, a walkie-talkie, two axes, bomb making materials, and some jihadi books, he said.
