Country faces serious crisis: Kamal Hossain

Gana Forum president and eminent jurist Kamal Hossain on Saturday said the country is facing serious crisis and that the people want emancipation from such unwarranted situation.
‘We must work together to bring changes in the situation,’ Kamal said while addressing the opening session of a meeting of Juba Gana Forum, the youth front of Gana Forum, at the party’s central office in the capital.
Referring to the carnage at a Gulshan café and another deadly attack on a police outpost at Sholakia, he said, anyone claiming that things are normal is living in a heaven of the fools.
At least 28 people were killed including 16 international citizens at Gulshan café on July 1. In another attack on a police outpost on July 7, two policemen were killed.
‘We did not want this Bangladesh…we had a desire for a non-sectarian and democratic Bangladesh for which the people had been eagerly waiting,’ Kamal, one of the authors of Bangladesh’s constitution, said.
He called on the people, especially the youths, to come out on the streets and bring changes in the country.
Mostafa Mohasin Montu, general secretary of the party, central leader Moshtaque Ahmed, Juba Gana Forum leaders Mohammad Masud and Borhanuddin Chowdhury, also spoke.
