War crimes trial: Mobarak at tribunal
The war crimes accused, Mobarak Hossain, an expelled Awami League leader of Brahmanbaria, has been taken to the tribunal in the capital at around 9:25am today where a long-awaited verdict in his war crimes case would be delivered. The trial of Mobarak, 64, on 5 crimes against humanity charges was completed on June 2 and the tribunal wished to deliver the verdict at a later date. The International Crimes Tribunal-1, however, on Sunday said it would deliver judgement of the war crimes case against Mobarak on Monday. Security has been beefed up in and around the Old High Court building where the court is housed.
