Kader Siddique blames Mujib’s sycophants for his killing

Krishok Sramik Janata League president Abdul Kader Siddique said on Tuesday the sycophants of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had prepared the ground for the killing the country’s founding president.
He said the current political situation was neither upholding the spirit of the independence war of 1971 nor showing any respect to Mujib’s sacrifice.
The decorated freedom fighter, who was the chief of the militia force ‘Kaderia bahini’ during War of Independence, made the comment while talking to reporters after visiting Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the capital on the occasion of National Mourning Day.
He lamented that the freedom fighters who protested against Mujib’s killing on August 15 were now being treated as conspirators, instead of being honoured as patriots.
Citing cancellation of birthday celebrations by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, Kader said, ‘If the decision was not made in honour of Mujib, it won’t carry any important message for us.’
He said the people of Bangladesh were not well now and only prime minister Sheikh Hasina could solve the existing political and economic crisis.
‘If she succeeds in reuniting the nation against all odds, her political image as the daughter of Mujib would be refurbished as a positive national and international figure,’ Kader observed.
He urged all to stand by the people affected by the recent floods across the country.
The party general secretary, Habibur Rahman Talukder, central leader Nasrin Siddique, organising secretary Shafiqul Islam Delwar, Mahbubur Rahman and Rafiqul Islam were present on the occasion among others.
