MP Rana shifted to Kashimpur jail

Ruling Awami League lawmaker for Tangail 3 constituency Amanur Rahman Khan Rana was shifted to Kashimpur jail in Gazipur on Monday.
He was sent to jail by a Tangail court after he surrendered in sensational freedom fighter Faruk murder case on Sunday.
Jailor of Tangail jail Ritesh Chakma said there was no suitable facility in Tangail jail for a detainee who was eligible for division in prison.
‘So, we shifted the lawmaker to Kashimpur jail in Gazipur on instructions from higher authorities.
Amanur surrendered to the first additional district and sessions judge Abul Mansur Mia in the morning and sought bail. The court rejected the bail prayer and sent him to jail.
Tangail district unit AL organised a spot meeting on the court premises on Monday noon, demanding that the killers of freedom fighter Faruk should be hanged.
AL activists started to gather on the court premises from the morning amid rain and brought out a procession which later ended in a rally.
Tangail district unit AL secretary Zwaherul Islam, its joint secretary Faruk’s widow Nahar Ahmed, its orgnising secretary and also Tangail municipality mayor Jamilur Rahman Miron and district unit AL science and technology secretary Tanvir Hasan Choto Moni spoke at the rally.
