Hasina holds meeting with Modi

The prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, held a bilateral meeting with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi at Goa on Sunday night, the prime minister’s deputy press secretary Nazrul Islam told New Age over phone.

The two leaders were in Goa to attend the BRICS-BIMSTEC Outreach Summit.

The meeting, which was scheduled for 9:00pm, started at about 11:30pm as the all the participating BRICS-BIMSTEC leaders were engaged in different programmes.

Foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj and foreign secretary M Shahidul Haque were, among others, present at the meeting.

Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka on Sunday morning for Goa. She is scheduled to reach home Monday morning.
