Writers Hasan Azizul Haque, Shakrito Noman awarded

Prominent writer Hasan Azizul Haque and young writer Shakrito Noman were awarded by fortnightly magazine Anyadin and Exim Bank Limited on Saturday on the 68th birthday of celebrated litterateur Humayun Ahmed.
Both writers received crests, certificates, flower bouquets and ceremonial scarfs.
Hasan Azizul Haque received Tk 5lakh in recognition of his contribution to literature while Noman received Tk 1 lakh for his work published between January and December in 2015 in the under-35 writer category. 
Professor emeritus Anisuzzaman, president of the jury board, finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Anyadin editor Mazharul Islam and Mohammad Haider Ali Mia, managing director of Exim Bank Ltd, handed over the awards.
Humayun Ahmed’s family members Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and Meher Afroze Shaon recalled Humayun who had kept Bengali readers enthralled for more than three decades.
Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan, director of Bangla Academy, spoke at the programme, while writers Abul Hasnat and Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam read out praise notes on the award recipients. 
Meanwhile, family, friends and peers will celebrate the birthday of the eminent novelist today at Nuhash Palli in Gazipur and also at his residence in the capital’s 
Dhanmondi.
Marking the birth anniversary of iconic novelist Humayun Ahmed, Exim Bank and fortnightly magazine Anyadin jointly introduced the literary award last year.
