Kamaruzzaman’s review hearing deferred to 1st April.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Monday deferred the death row convict Muhammad Kamaruzzaman’s review petition hearing until 1st of April. A four-member bench headed by chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order after Kamaruzzaman’s lawyer Maulabhi Wahidullah sought an adjournment of the hearing for four weeks, on Sunday. Earlier, Appellate Division chamber judge had set Monday for hearing on the review petition on his death sentence filed by Kamaruzzaman on March 5. International Crimes Tribunal-2 on February 19 issued the warrant to execute his death sentence for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
