Kamaruzzaman buried at village home.
The body of executed war criminal Muhammad Kamaruzzaman was buried in his village home at Mudipara of Bajitkhila union in Sherpur sadar upazila early Sunday. The ambulance carrying his body and escorted by law enforcers from Dhaka Central Jail reached the village around 4:15am. Sherpur sadar police station officer-in-charge, Mazharul Karim, told New Age that the body was handed over to his family members a few minutes after arrival there and his elder brother Md Kafil Uddin received the body. The body was buried behind the orphanage established by Kamaruzzaman after his namaz-e-janaza around 5:00am. The funeral prayer was attended by family members and relatives. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s senior assistant secretary general Muhammad Kamaruzzaman was hanged on Saturday night at Dhaka Central Jail for the war crimes he had committed in 1971.
