Khaleda attends Jamaat’s iftar party

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson, Khaleda Zia, on Thursday attended iftar party of the Jamaat-e-Islami, a key partner of the BNP-led alliance. Jamaat hosted the iftar party at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka in honour of politicians and professionals. Khaleda joined the iftar party few minutes after the iftar time because of traffic congestion accompanied by heavy rain. Leaders of the alliance and personalities of different professions, among others, attended the iftar. A prayer was offered before the iftar, breaking of fasting. Alliance leaders including Liberal Democratic Party president Oli Ahmed, Islami Oikya Jote chairman Abdul Latif Nezami, Khelafat Majlish amir Mohammad Ishaq, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party president Shafiul Alam Prodhan, Kalyan Party chairman Syed M Ibrahim, Labour Party chairman Mustafizur Rahman Iran, National Peoples’ Party faction chairman Fariduzzaman Farhad and BNP leaders MK Anwar, Nazrul Islam Khan and Asaduzzaman Ripon, among others, attended the iftar.
