Legal action against writers who hurts religion: minister
Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Tuesday warned that legal actions would be taken if anyone hurts religion through writing.
The minister said none had the right to dishonor or insult other’s religion.
Asaduzzaman was speaking to reporters after inaugurating a local office of Department of Narcotics Control at Gendaria.
He said that everyone should obey their respective religion and honor those of others.
In a meeting with law enforcement and intelligence agencies at home ministry recently, it was decided that none would be allowed to hurt religion with write-ups.
The government and law enforcement agencies recently took position against write-ups criticising or defaming Islam, the Quran and the Prophet.
