At least 17 killed in lightning strike in C’nawabganj

At least 17 people were killed in lightning strike at Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj on Wednesday.

Shibganj Upazila project implementation officer Ariful Islam confirmed the news to New Age.

He said that death toll might rise.

Local people said that the victims were killed by lightning on their way to attend a wedding ceremony by boat in the River Padmar near Dakshin Paka Char area of the upazila.
