PAK DIPLOMAT : Govt to take action if militancy link proved

Home affairs minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Tuesday said that actions would be taken through the foreign ministry if allegations against a Pakistani diplomat of having link with militancy were proved.
‘The allegations against the Pakistani diplomat will be investigated and actions will be taken through the foreign ministry if we find the diplomat having connections with militant outfits and conspiring against the country,’ he told reporters replying to a question.
The Pakistani diplomat staying in Dhaka would not be allowed to conspire against Bangladesh, the minister warned when asked for his comments on the reported link of a female Pakistani diplomat with militant outfits.
On November 30, the Detective Branch of police arrested four operatives of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh, including a Pakistan national, at Dhaka airport and Khilgaon respectively.
Arrested Idris Sheikh, Mokbul Sharif, Salam and Mostofa Jaman were linked to Pakistan-based militant outfits, detectives claimed.
They all used to maintain contacts with a female diplomat of a high commission in Dhaka, Dhaka Metropolitan Police joint commissioner (Detective Branch) Monirul Islam said earlier at a briefing without disclosing the name.
Idris carried a spy mobile phone belonged to a foreign intelligence agency and used to send documents and information to a designated intelligence official, Monirul said.
