Govt makes farce in name of blogger killing trial: Ganajagaran Mancha
Ganajagaran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarkar on Monday said that genuine killers of blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider were not punished and the government made farce in the name of trial.
He also said that the verdict did not reflect the government’s decision to show zero tolerance to militancy. ‘Such verdict will encourage militants to continue their killing missions,’ Imran said.
He came up with the remark while addressing a commemorating meeting of Ahmed Rajib Haider and Jafar Munshi held at Shahbagh intersection in the city on Monday afternoon.
The Mancha activists also brought out a rally which started from Shahbagh intersection and ended at the starting point after parading Dhaka University campus.
Earlier on December 31, 2015, a speedy trial tribunal sentenced two to death and one to life in prison for killing blogger Rajib Haider.
On February 15, 2013, Ahmed Rajib Haidar, an activist of Ganajagarn Mancha, was stabbed to death near his house at Mirpur Palash Nagar in the capital.
