Minor girl flees from abductor

A child was rescued from Mohammadpur Geneva Camp in the capital Thursday afternoon, hours after she was lured to the camp in the morning.
Nafiya, 6, daughter of Nurul Islam Rana, sought help from patrol police in Mohammdpur, fleeing from her abductor at Geneva Camp, said inspector [investigation] of Mohammadpur police station, Jan-e Alam Munshi.
‘The girl hurriedly came to us when we were patrolling the Geneva Camp area in the noon,’ he said.
She told us that she was picked up from Rayerbazar embankment area by a woman and taken to the Geneva Camp in the morning, the inspector said.
She was taken to Mohammadpur police station. She managed to give her mother’s mobile number.
After we called her parents, they came in and the child was handed over to them, said Munshi.
Nafiya’s father is a cleaner of Dhaka City Corporation.
Police said no one was arrested.
