SUJAN’S DEATH : DU students take to streets
Dhaka University students blocked Shahbagh intersection for two hours and a half on Monday afternoon, demanding fair trial in the killing of Sujan Mridha, a student of the university’s marketing department.
Family and witnesses said Sujan was killed in police firing during the second phase of union parishad election in Madaripur. But the police denied the allegation and claimed that Sujan was killed in a clash between two rival groups.
Agitating students brought out a procession on the campus. Later, they blocked the intersection from 4:30pm to 7:00pm, creating huge traffic congestion in the area.
