ASI stabbed in Dhaka city

A police officer was hospitalised ‘in a critical condition’ after being stabbed by an assailant with sharp weapons in old town of Dhaka.
Assistant sub-inspector Anisur Rahman came under attack around 9:30am inside an alley at Bangshal, said the Bangshal police officer-in-charge Nure Alam Siddique.
ASI Anisur, who was posted at the Nababpur police outpost, was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in ‘a critical condition’, he said.
The attacker hacked him at random, injuring his ears, neck, chest and leg’, said DMCH police outpost’s in-charge Mozammel Haque.
The lone assailant was identified, but not arrested yet, the OC told New Age about 4:30pm.
Visiting Anisur at DMCH, Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said the attack was an isolated incident and not a pre-planned one.
‘Perhaps the attack was out of personal vengeance for some reasons,’ he said.
The DMP chief said if it was personal or professional cause behind the attack was under investigation.
