PM sees no justification of failure in public exams

The prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, has said she sees no justification of failure in the examination as the government is providing huge opportunities for them for studies.
She said this while publishing the result of SSC and equivalent examinations at a function at her official residence in the capital.
The results of Secondary School Certificate examination under eight education boards and equivalent examinations under the Madrasa and technical education boards were published today with 88.29 per cent pass rate, reports Banglades Sangbad Sangstha.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the result to prime minister Sheikh Hasina at a function at PM’s official residence Ganabhaban.
Speaking on the occasion the prime minister urged the students, guardians and teachers to avail the opportunities created by the government for development of education and give proper attention to the education of the children.
‘There is no justification of huge failure as we are providing many opportunities for education’ she said adding that her government is working for creating facilities for education including development of atmosphere in educational institution, renovation of the school buildings, providing scholarship and distributing text books free of cost.
She said the government has constituted trust fund to provide financial support to the students up to higher education level. ‘We want to provide modern education to the children through introducing multimedia system in the classes,’ she said.
She said a nation cannot prosper without proper education. In view of this, she said, the government has taken massive programmes to educate the students with general education side by side technical one.
The prime minister said, ‘Government has attached importance to technical and vocational education for their market demand. As well our future generation should have knowledge of present technological era.’
She said the government has also attached importance on teachers training to make them capable to provide modern education to the children.
Sheikh Hasina said her government has also made the religious education mandatory at school level to ensure ideal growth of future generation. Religious education is essential for complete education, she said.
Pointing out the facilities created by the government for development of education, the Prime Minister said distribution of textbooks free of cost and scholarship for students from primary to higher education level have lessened financial burden on guardians to a large extent.
‘The scholarship facilities that we have given to the student are unparalleled in the world. We want our children would get proper education and in future no student would fail in the examination,’ she hoped.
Congratulating the successful students, the prime minister said, ‘the pass rate has been increased, though some students became unsuccessful.’ She said, ‘our children are meritorious. So they cannot fail in the examination.’

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘We want our children will grow up with proper education, they will compete with the children of other countries, acquire knowledge about modern science and technology and take forward the country through using their innovative power.’
She said, ‘In future Bangladesh will not beg to others. Bangladesh will live with its own resources and manpower to become a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed nation in South Asia by 2041.’
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid, education secretary Sohrab Hossain and chairmen of the education boards and senior officials were present.
The prime minister talked with some students, teachers and officials of Jhalakathi and Panchagarh districts from district administration offices through video conference.
