DMCH burn unit catches fire
A fire broke out at the burn and plastic surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit of an air conditioner outside the room 317 of the unit around 2:00pm, creating panic among the patients and their attendants, said Partha Shankar Paul, resident surgeon of the burn unit.
The fire was put out before the arrival of three fire-fighting units at the spot around 2:30pm, said a fire service control room official.
However, none was hurt in the incident, Partha added.
