The prices of onion, potato and egg increased in the city’s kitchen markets over the week ending Friday. According to traders, the prices of the items increased due to supply shortage as transportation got hampered due to vacation of Eid-ul-Azha.
Mobile subscribers cross 13cr mark
Active mobile subscribers in the country crossed the 13-crore mark in August as the six mobile phone operators added more than 21 lakh users in the month. According to the latest data of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, the total mobile users reached 13.08 crore when four mobile companies witnessed growth and two lost clients.

HAJJ STAMPEDE : Death of 41 Bangladeshis confirmed so far
The Bangladesh mission in Saudi Arabia on Thursday confirmed the death of 41 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims so far in the September 24 stampede in Mina, outside the holy city of Makkah. The death toll of Bangladeshis increased from 28, as reported on Wednesday. The figure is likely to go up according to officials concerned.
